This Career Pivot Playbook features Pinkie, a branding lead and creator whose work spans psychology, community-building, visual identity, and AI-supported creative systems.
…and she’s also the founder of AI Meets Girlboss on Substack.
Pinkie’s career has been shaped less by titles and more by patterns. Long before branding became her profession, she was building online communities… designing spaces, shaping language, and paying attention to how people connect, participate, and find confidence in shared environments.
Formal studies in psychology and later work in HR and branding leadership added structure to those instincts, grounding creative work in human behavior, decision-making, and meaning.
Over time, that foundation extended into product innovation and visual systems at scale.
Each stage sharpened a different lens… community, identity, clarity, and cohesion, even when the throughline wasn’t obvious at the time.
That accumulated understanding would later influence how Pinkie approached AI.
Rather than treating AI as something to master technically, she began using it as a thinking partner, a way to explore ideas, refine visuals, and make creative work more accessible and repeatable.
Writing in public became part of that process: a place to test, reflect, and learn alongside others.
AI Meets Girlboss emerged not as a personal brand, but as an extension of that way of working.
A space to translate experience into visual systems, prompts, and collaborations that help founders clarify their brand and build confidence without losing their voice.
This Playbook explores how curiosity, lived experience, and public experimentation can quietly evolve into a resilient, future-ready creative career.
✨About Career Pivot Playbooks
A public archive of modern career blueprints…
Most careers no longer follow a straight line.
People pivot gradually.
They extend their work beyond institutions.
They combine roles, platforms, and income streams.
Career Pivot Playbooks is a weekly series curated by Katharine Gallagher documenting how professionals build resilient, future-ready careers by turning existing skills into income, often combining Substack with consulting, teaching, research, creative work, or business ownership.
The focus isn’t outcomes.
It’s about how careers are shaped in practice.
About Pinkie🦩
Pinkie is a branding lead and creator whose career spans psychology, community-building, visual identity, and AI-supported creative systems. Drawing on early internet experience and branding leadership, she helps founders clarify their brand and build visually distinct identities without becoming technical.
On Substack, Pinkie writes AI Meets Girlboss, a publication focused on branding with AI, visual systems, and collaborative experimentation—showing how technology, taste, and public thinking can work together to build confidence and coherence over time.

Pinkie reflects:
“Can you tell us a bit about your professional background and the path that led you to where you are today?”
I’ve spent the last eight years in branding, currently leading a team of 12 project managers and designers. My role sits at the intersection of strategy, business development, and product innovation, most recently building a real-time, AI-powered data dashboard.
But this didn’t start in a boardroom.
I studied psychology, began my career in HR, and long before that, in the late 2000s, I was building Avril Lavigne fan sites. I ran an online community of 5,000 people, designed the website, wrote the content, managed forums, and organized real-life meetups. At the time, it felt like a hobby. Looking back, it was branding, community building, and digital storytelling in its rawest form.
Substack and AI Meets Girlboss feel like the full-circle moment where all of those threads finally meet.
“What inspired you to make a career pivot, and how did you know it was the right time?”
Because right now is the safest time to learn AI.
Expectations aren’t fully formed yet. Companies don’t know exactly what “good” looks like, which means experimentation is allowed. That window won’t stay open forever.
AI is both a career advantage and a personal one. If you learn how to use it well now, it compounds over the next decade. You don’t need to be technical. You just need to start before the rules harden.
For me, this wasn’t about chasing a trend. It was about future-proofing confidence.
“Which skills from your previous roles have been most valuable in your new career or business?”
Honestly? All of them.
My teenage fan-site years taught me community dynamics. Psychology taught me how people actually make decisions. Branding taught me how meaning, visuals, and language work together.
AI Meets Girlboss sits right at that intersection: building brands with AI, translating complexity into clarity, and creating a space where people learn by watching, trying, and participating. It’s not a pivot away from my past. It’s a full-circle moment.
“How did you discover Substack (or the platform you use) and why did you choose it as your primary engine for growth?”
Substack isn’t well known in Hungary yet. Most people around me had never heard of it.
That was exactly the appeal.
It’s not mainstream, but it has momentum. More importantly, it has culture. The community reminds me of the early internet in the best way: generous, curious, collaborative. It’s the most positive corner of the internet I’ve experienced since those early fan-site days in 2006.
People build in public here. That changes everything.
“Who is your audience, and what value or offerings do you provide for them?”
I write for millennial women: corporate professionals, freelancers, solopreneurs, and women returning from maternity leave.
They’re smart. Capable. Already good at their jobs. They don’t want to “study AI.” They want to use it well without losing their voice or credibility.
AI Meets Girlboss makes AI feel accessible, visual, and fun. I use pop-culture references, design, and storytelling to lower the intimidation barrier. Taylor Swift, Sex and the City, Disney metaphors. Whatever makes the concepts stick.
The goal isn’t hype. It’s confidence through small, repeatable wins.
“What were some of the highs and lows of starting over or launching this new venture?”
For two years, I circled the idea of building something online. Digital products, print-on-demand, affiliate models. Everything felt like it required becoming an influencer. I didn’t want that.
I discovered Substack in 2025 through @dremployerbranding, who’s quite a big LinkedIn thought leader in his field. That’s when things started to come together. I planned my entry for months, explored multiple personas, and eventually Pinkie, the voice behind AI Meets Girlboss, stood out.
“What challenges did you face during your career pivot, and how did you overcome them?”
Starting was the hardest part.
I’m not a native English speaker. I’m not a tech bro. I was afraid those would be disadvantages in an AI space.
Meanwhile, at work, I was already building custom GPTs for my team and developing an AI-integrated product with developers. The irony wasn’t lost on me.
So on November 15th, I had a free Saturday. No plans. No excuses. I opened Substack and published something simply to see how it felt.
That one small action broke the fear loop.
And that’s the feeling I want other women to experience. When AI feels approachable and even fun, trying becomes easier. The first trial lowers the fear. The fear was never about ability. It was about starting.
“What advice would you give to someone considering a similar pivot or looking to monetize their skills online?”
I’ve been on Substack for two months.
I have nearly 400 subscribers and my first paid subscriber. When that happened, my first thought was: this must be a mistake. Impostor syndrome arrived right on time.
My advice is simple: take the plunge and find your people. Everything you need to learn is already on the platform. Substack is one of the best places to learn, grow, and monetize.
If a non-technical, pink-coded, millennial woman can build an AI brand here, it’s not exclusive. It’s accessible.
“Do you engage with any other audiences or platforms, and how do they fit into your overall strategy?”
Not yet. I’m deliberately keeping the system simple while I refine my message and audience. Clarity before scale. Complexity can wait.
“Looking back, what are you most proud of in your journey so far, and what’s next for you?”
The feedback.
When someone tells me they tried something they were afraid of. When they say AI finally feels doable. When they share their own experiment instead of just reading. That’s everything.
I read every comment. I reply thoughtfully. I learn from them all. Over time, the feedback started pointing in one direction. I enjoy helping women step into their AI Era. I’m good at helping creators think more clearly about their brand and use AI without losing their voice.
So that’s what I’m leaning into in 2026, through two series: In My AI Era and Branding with AI.
You’ll be seeing me around, Girlbosses🦩
