This is phenomenal, Katharine!!! one of my new favorite articles on substack!

these skills are real, solid skills we need to know and learn. not hacks, tricks, and quick tips. real skills that take practice to build! like you said these skills separate astute professionals from the rest!

So, basically all in for the ADHDers while the best pattern spotters you could possibly get (autistic people) will fall down the sidelines because everything is getting mushed together, which creates an environment that autistics cannot thrive in, being asked to do stuff on top that they are NOT good at, and neurotypicals disliking to work with them based on sheer issues in expression differences. Oh, and even neurotypicals lose to ADHDers…. What a wonderful future world where everyone is turning into coffee&sugar-pumped squirrels or falling through the cracks (especially anyone who grows older and can no longer adapt quite as quickly as before). Yeah, no way we’ve been seeing this for decades. 🤪 (While everyone else and especially schools are still demanding you to „specialize, specialize“, doing the opposite of preparing people for the job world these days, because these systems didn‘t adapt fast enough… oh, and they also actively hurt ADHDers, the best you could want in this kind of demand situation, so you‘ll get those who can’t deal with a lot of stuff and their stress splurges into their teams because they’ve gotten wrecked by society for what they‘d be best at in childhood (way to go, society… jealous much?)… to the detriment of said society and job world.)

Job stacking: Do more in less! Be able to do ten jobs at once, next up: 15! Future Future: … you know where I‘m going, right?

This world is so F-ed if that continues, because everyone will fall into burnout, because people are still people and don’t have endless exponential growth capacities, especially not when their psyches already get torn down in school and at the age when they finally managed healing themselves there‘s now active age prejudice that you won’t be able to keep up with the learning demand at 40+. 🙄
